Science Teachers Association of Tasmania

The Science Teacher’s Association of Tasmanian Inc (STAT) is a professional association for Tasmanian science educators from kindergarten to tertiary level. It is a non-profit professional association that exists for the support of science education in all its forms. The purpose and goal of STAT is to represent and connect science educators, promote the importance of science education for all, create and promote mutually beneficial science education partnerships and influence science policy on behalf of our members.

The South Australian Science Teachers Association (SASTA) aim is ‘to promote and support the teaching of science in schools’, and ‘to foster the professional development of science teachers’. SASTA’s strength lies in its members and in the many highly committed educators who volunteer their time out of school hours to ensure that we continue to serve the needs of all teachers of science.

SASTA members are drawn from all education sectors, teaching all year levels across the state. SASTA is also fortunate to have a permanent secretariat to ensure the continuing smooth functioning of all aspects of our business. The Science Teachers Association NSW exists to build a dynamic community of science educators who inspire future scientists and citizens. We advance the teaching and learning of science across NSW through: fostering professional networking, being leaders of excellence in science education and using our cross-sectoral voice to advocate for science education.

Founded in 1951 we are an Association led by science educators who volunteer their time to foster a supportive environment that provides leadership and promotes excellence in science education.
